4 Great Reasons Why Consistency Is Key To Achieving Any Goal in Life

You’ve been Googling.

You want to know why consistency is key, right?

Well, if that’s what you are looking for, you come to the right place.

You will learn all about the importance of consistency and you will also have the opportunity to have a free action plan that you can use to incorporate consistency in your life so you can crush your goals.

Are you ready to get started?

If so, read on.

1. Consistency Establishes Habits

Let’s face reality.

Habits define who you are.

As the old cliché goes, you are what you do consistently.

And habits dictate what you do consistently.

Habits are the key to sustaining effort over time.

They can either propel you to the clouds of success or they can send you to the depths of mediocrity.

As you do something more and more often, this habit will become second nature to you.

You won’t even think about doing it.

You’ll just do it.

Think of going to work every day.

You get up in the morning and you arrive at the office at, more or less, the same time every day.

You don’t think about it.

It’s automatic.

And since you do it repetitively, it gets incorporated into your routine.

Any habit you develop will be the same thing.

Sure, it might be difficult at first since you are learning what you need to do and adjusting to the circumstance.

But once you get into your own groove, you do it every day, and eventually, you get comfortable with the habit.

And if this habit is a good habit, the quality of your life will improve since you are consistently implementing it.

Every great habit that you implement will compound over time just like the magic of compound interest on an investment.

Consistency will always improve upon itself just like money makes money off of itself when compounded.

As a result, you progressively predict your success in what you do.

This is what gives you power over your own destiny and the self-control required to take charge of your environment.

And these two things allow you to believe, and live out this next point:

2. Consistency Makes You Confident

man in suit

When you can closely predict what will happen next and almost, if not everything, is in your control, you develop confidence within yourself.

Confidence gives you peace of mind and makes you feel like a badass ready to conquer the world.

Your whole mindset changes from “I can’t do it” to “Not only can I do this, but I can also do it while crushing everyone like I’m eating cake for breakfast.”

As a result, you don’t hesitate in your actions and you go full force without questioning your every move.

Anyone who isn’t consistent in something will question their every move and they will go all over the place.

As a result, their confidence drops and they will not head where they need to go.

To prove this point, think back to your school/college days.

Did you ever have a time where you waited until the last minute to complete an assignment or study for a test?

How did it feel?

Were you relaxed like you were at the Ritz-Carlton?

Or was it like you were running from a herd of hyenas in the middle of the wild?

Comment below with your thoughts.

If you peel through the layers as to why you were stressed, I think you’ll find that you weren’t consistent in your study efforts over a long period of time.

As a result, you had a lot of studying to do in such a short amount of time while questioning every move you made.

Now let’s flip to the other side of the coin.

Flashback to when you earned a really high score on a test.

Leading up to it, what did you do?

Did you procrastinate and cram until the last minute?

Or did you study little amounts every day before the material built itself up to be a massive amount by test day?

And on test day, what happened?

Exactly.

If you studied little amounts every day, you were consistent.

And when you were consistent, you were confident in what you were doing.

As a result, you answered those questions like you were kicking the door open without hesitation.

Now, this was just a school example, but I think you’ll agree that being consistent in whatever you are doing will make you confident in anything.

As a result, you will not be indecisive in what you are doing, but rather, a decisive leader who knows what he/she wants out of life.

Of course, it’s important to incorporate the correct habits so that this wishy-washy thinking of “Should I do this or that” doesn’t happen.

The wrong habits will lead to time wasters and ultimately make you consistent with things that won’t get you anywhere.

Later in this post, I’ll show you what you need to do in order to implement the correct habits ASAP so you can consistently incorporate them into your goal.

Read on to know about this.

Now, with habits you’ve established with consistency, you have the foundation to become something that will ultimately earn you respect and business.

This “something” is this:

3. You Become Trustworthy (Hint: This is what leads to success)

dog and person looking at lake

Here’s the truth:

People don’t do business with people and/or businesses they don’t trust.

It’s as simple as that.

People want to see a track record of success in what you are doing in order to seriously believe that you can do the job they want you to do.

Prospective clients/employers believe that if you have been successful for other people, they are most likely going to receive success from doing business with you.

All of this starts from consistently implementing the correct habits to achieve this goal while using your experience and success to develop the confidence necessary to deliver on your promises.

When you are able to do this, you simply keep doing what you are doing in producing results, and eventually, people will come to believe in you.

As a result, they will trust you to do the job they want you to do.

If you don’t believe this, think of it this way:

Imagine that you were looking to hire a lawyer for a lawsuit you need to file (please don’t get to this point).

You are browsing reviews one day and you come across 2 lawyers that seem interesting.

After further review, you discover that one lawyer has 5-star reviews, but also has several 1-star reviews with people saying that “This lawyer did not file my case on time.”

On the other hand, you only find 5-star reviews for the 2nd lawyer and not a single review lower than 5 stars.

Who are you going to pick as your lawyer based on reviews alone?

Exactly.

And chances are, the 5-star lawyer implemented several of the correct habits consistently to get to that point, and hence, he’ll be WAY more confident in doing his job versus the “all over the place” lawyer.

This is the relationship between consistency and success.

If you are consistent, you become confident.

If you are confident, you do the job.

If you do the job, people trust you.

And when people trust you, they buy from you.

This is where consistency leads if you play your cards correctly.

Now, when you consistently produce positive results in what you do, this happens:

4. You Become Great at What You Do

trophy being held

Greatness comes from the consistent repetition of a skill trained correctly.

Read that sentence again if you must.

Repetition is the mother of all learning and mastery.

Without constantly training your mind to do something, you can’t get proficient at the thing you want to become proficient at.

To prove this point, let me tell you a story that’ll substantiate everything we are talking about.

I was a student at university.

At first, I wasn’t the best.

I would get B’s on my test and not have the mindset to get 100 on every test.

In short, I would scrape by.

However, I was determined to solve this problem.

Frankly, I didn’t research the study methods that worked, I simply had the mindset to get 100 on every test.

I found the successful study methods by accident.

But when they started working for me, I went all-in on them and implemented them consistently.

Over time, I got more comfortable with these methods through constant practice and successful application.

This gave me the confidence required to go into any exam and literally crush it.

And so I did.

In fact, I crushed my exams so much that one professor sent this to me once the tests were graded:

email with exam score

I achieved this score through consistently studying 3 hours per day all the way up until test day.

In the last week leading up to the test, I upped the study time to 4.5 hours per day.

I consistently drilled the material I needed to know.

As a result, I became very confident in what I was doing and I knew going in that I had a legitimate shot of getting a perfect score or, at the very least, something close to it.

Lo and behold, the vision was realized.

This wasn’t the only test where I got the highest score in.

I repeated the same process I did here to other tests I took and I got the highest grades on those tests (or close to the highest grade).

Many of my classmates were so impressed that they started coming up to me and asking how I was getting these results.

They even wanted to study with me.

When people came up to me to request study time with me, I knew that I produced positive results to the point where they trusted my ability to help them get better test scores.

And when you earn this attention without asking for it, you know you have something other people value.

Hence, you are great at what you do.

Of course, this story isn’t to brag.

This story is to prove that what I am telling you in this post is true and grounded in results.

In the next section, I will show you a framework that you can apply so you can achieve results like these in anything you do.

This is not limited to school.

Anything involving effort and/or study (which is everything) will benefit from this framework.

Of course, it involves consistency.

With that said, let’s get into this framework.

How to Become Consistent and Great Starting Today (The Surefire Plan for Success)

great with exclamation mark

The Consistency Flowchart

Phase 1: Mindset

Phase 2: Commit

Phase 3: Habits

Phase 4: Deadline

Phase 5: Consistency

Phase 6: Practice

Phase 7: Self-Confidence

Phase 8: Self-Trust

Phase 9: Greatness

This is the “consistency” flowchart.

Following these phases will ensure that you reach your goal through consistent action every day.

Phase 1: Mindset

Your mind has to be in it to win it.

Not for second place.

It has to be in it to earn first place.

Why?

Because you can’t get the best possible result without shooting for the highest result you can.

Those who shoot for mediocrity will never get past it; the effort will be too difficult to get to first place.

When you go for first place, not only is it possible to earn it but achieving remarkable levels of success will be easier to achieve.

Why?

Because your body will be used to the work required to achieve success.

As a result, you don’t have to put grunt effort.

You just work.

Phase 2: Commit

You have to want it and you need to have your heart in it.

Your heart is what will drive your effort when you don’t want to work.

If you have your heart into what you do, you put passion into your work and as a result, you become dedicated to your craft.

People often miss this step when achieving a goal.

Because of this, they drop out and they don’t achieve the goal.

If you put your heart into something, you’ll want to go to work instead of stay at home.

When you find that thing that makes you want to go to work, that should be your goal.

Something to think about.

Phase 3: Habits

Habits are the foundation for consistency.

As we discussed earlier, you need to have the correct habits to effectively achieve your goals.

These habits come from having the correct training.

If the training is off, it doesn’t matter what you do.

Therefore, to get the habits you need, you need to find the correct training provider to help you achieve your goals.

This might or might not involve going to university depending on what the goal is.

Phase 4: Deadline

From education and habits, you can set a timetable to schedule the date you believe you can achieve your goal.

For everyone, this timetable will be different.

But, there should be a timetable to shoot for to prevent procrastination and to have a sense of urgency.

Otherwise, the goal isn’t important.

Phase 5: Consistency

Now is where the real work begins.

You MUST consistently act on the habits that will get you to where you need to go.

Without doing what you need to do on a repetitive basis, you WILL lose track of what you are doing and your results will be subpar at best.

Period.

There is not a single person who is great at what they do who wasn’t consistent.

So you MUST become this.

You have to become the machine.

Now to become the machine, this next thing is an ABSOLUTE must.

Phase 6: Practice

Practice, practice, practice.

That’s how it goes to become a master at anything.

If you don’t practice, you rely on theory to get you by.

And that’s a big problem.

Everything in life requires application in order to know the intricate details of what you are doing.

It’s only with these details where you can truly discover what’s right and wrong with what you are doing.

When you fine-tune your craft with these details, you’ll be able to run the same play with confidence and WOW the crowd with your performance.

Hence, the need for rehearsal.

Hence, practice, practice, PRACTICE!

Phase 7: Self-Confidence

Successful repetition of concepts is what provides you the inner assurance of “I can do this” without any hesitation whatsoever.

This is when you start to become unstoppable instead of a scared, stuttering puppy.

Think of this step as your golden ticket for getting to the next level in whatever you are doing.

This is where you set your mind from just passing and getting by to kicking everyone’s butt.

So when successful repetition of a concept starts clicking for you, think “I got this. I can do some next-level stuff to become the best at what I do.”

And self-confidence leads to:

Phase 8: Self-Trust

Confidence leads to trust because you know you can do it.

When you trust yourself, you have every belief in your ability to do what you need to do.

Also, you give other people a reason to trust you since if you don’t trust yourself, why should anyone trust you in the first place?

And when you trust yourself with everything you’ve built up so far, you can have this:

Phase 9: Greatness

Constant action using the right tools leads to this.

You can’t have it any other way.

And when you are great at what you do, you are at the top of the world.

So if you take anything from this post, note that following the right process is the key to success.

Or rather, consistent application of the right process for your situation is the key to success.

Note this and act on this.

You will eventually be rewarded in some capacity.

Now, if there is anything you need to know from this post, it’s this:

You Are Worth It

chalkboard with the word quality

You are worth it.

You are worth every penny you believe you are worth.

You have the potential to provide SO much value to the world with all the talents you have and can develop.

You have the self-belief to know that you can accomplish anything you desire.

You just need to act on it.

You need to pounce like your heart is into it.

When you pounce like your heart is into it, you’ll develop into the best that you can be.

Very few people put their heart into what they do.

If you can put your heart and your internal belief of being worth whatever you desire, you will propel yourself to the top of what you do.

Not even the most talented guy without heart can compete against heart.

Heart always beats talent if the guy with talent doesn’t put heart into what he does.

Why?

Because he doesn’t want it BAD enough.

If you want it BAD enough, you’ll steal his lunch like it’s nobody’s business.

And guess what?

You’ll get to keep it like you never stole anything.

And that’s the truth of this world.

If you want it bad enough, whatever you want can be snatched up from the guy who has the most talent.

If you really want something BAD enough and you are consistent in your work, you’ll become great and knock the heartless talent bug off of the podium like the boss that you are.

And when you do that, nothing can stop you except yourself.

So don’t delay.

Find out what it is you want and get to it with the resources you have.

And you will be rewarded for knowing that you are worth it and taking action on it.

So go do it.
