Do Not Settle

Do Not Settle

Do not settle.

Like really, do not settle.

Settling is for those who have literally given up on themselves.

Settling is for those who just want to be average and live like an average schmuck, particularly those who say “Chillin’ dude? Ya wanna chill?”

Settling is for those who are unmotivated, lazy, and do not desire nor seek to achieve greatness.

Let me explain what I mean.

What I Mean

Do Not Settle

Everyday, you hear people complain about their lives and the fact that they are a victim of circumstance.

They feel that the world controls them and that they can’t do more than they think.

They feel that there is no hope, no dreams, no passion, and only a life of boredom.

They focus on what’s wrong with the world and that there is nothing to be done, that circumstance is uncontrollable, and that they are never to blame.

These people are disgusting.

They are toxic.

They are evil.

They are, honestly, morons.

They will never be on the Island.

Because there is no hope in that thinking.

You see, if you were to settle, which you won’t my future islander, you would be trapped in a cycle of “Oh no, here we go again, on this crazy cycle that we are on that we have no control over. AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!”

That’s called giving up your destiny to someone else.

And do you know what happen when you give up your destiny to someone else?

They control the ride, and the chances are is that you will not like it.

Does that sound appealing to you my future islander?

I don’t think so.

These people don’t have a life nor do they produce life.

Do you know what they do?

They CONSUME life!

Do Not Settle

They rely on others instead of creating systems that work for them.

Don’t be like them.

Ever.

What You Must Realize

Do Not Settle

My future islander, you must realize one thing though.

The best is the only thing that you must ask and do the necessary work for.

Anything less is an utter disgrace to yourself.

Because it is only with the best that you can generate unlimited POWER over every circumstance that you encounter.

You will exert maximum influence over all areas of your life and your authority will NEVER be questioned!

When you request only for the best and you don’t stop pounding that desire, you won’t conform to people, but rather, people will conform to you.

Because you’re a leader.

You’re the hunter.

You become respected.

You are the lion.

And your kingdom awaits.

You see, unless you challenge me, which I so want you to do, I will become the most powerful and wealthiest man on planet Earth.

Do you know why?

Because I desire the best.

And not only do I desire it, I am vigorously working towards it.

And I am the best at what I do, the very best, and I don’t let anyone tell me otherwise.

I am working endlessly to achieve that desire and I don’t let anyone tell me that I can’t do it.

I know that I will do it.

I am doing it.

I know that I will achieve it.

I am creating a kingdom that will serve me to the fullest capacity.

I will not succumb to anyone who tries to block me from building my kingdom.

I will say it again, I WILL NOT SUCCUMB TO ANYONE WHO TRIES TO BLOCK ME FROM BUILDING MY KINGDOM!

Let this get the point across even more.

I know that by now I’ve convinced you that the best is the ONLY thing to strive for.

Because less is horrible.

Less is mediocre.

Less is disgusting.

Do Not Settle

More is the way.

More is influence.

More is power.

More is knowing and predicting what will happen.

Do Not Settle

My future islander, have you ever been trapped in a small mentality?

Meaning, you have to think in terms of limiting what you can do, eliminating any control over circumstances and just flat out let someone else take control?

That was a product of your environment.

That was the wrong information about creating your destiny.

I know that you desire more, and that’s why you have read up to this point.

Here’s what you can do today to fix that small mentality:

First, completely ignore everything that you hear from those that are not where you desire to be.

Unless of course it’s a medical emergency or a life threatening situation or an attorney addressing the legality of the situation,

COMPLETELY IGNORE EVERYTHING THAT THEY TELL YOU.

So if they say something, understand where they are coming from, but act in the other direction.

That’s what you need to do with respect to those who are not where you desire to be.

Next, think to yourself where you want to be and you already being there.

In other words, create an image and a personal movie in your mind showing yourself being where you want to be and what is happening at that point in time.

This is your own personal example of being a leader and the doer who got what he wanted.

That is your inner hero.

Your inner drive and motivation to accomplish anything.

Let’s say for instance that you desired to win 5 gold medals at the Olympics as a swimmer and you wanted to create a vision of yourself winning the 5 gold medals before it even happens.

What you’ll do is that you will

1. Choose to do it and have a specific number in mind.

2. You pick a setting for your inner movie to take place and you pick what the characters will be and what they’ll do.

3. Play the movie in your head 1 time. If you don’t like what you see, edit it. Remember, this is YOUR vision; play it the way that YOU want it to play out. Dig REALLY deep into your mind and really uncover this answer!

4. Keep editing your inner movie until you found the vision for you.

5. Play this inner movie in your head multiple times to engrain it in your mind that this is what will happen and that this vision will become a reality with purposeful action.

And keep doing all 5 steps everyday, at morning and at night at the minimum, or if you’re uninspired, until you get what you desire!

For our Olympian friend up above, here’s the procedure applied to his situation:

1. Choose to win 5 gold medals

2. Create the pool as the setting and make you, your competitors, and the audience at the Swimming Complex the characters. Choose the ending in which you will win 5 gold medals and they will lose.

3. Play that movie 1 time in your head. If you hate it, edit it. Everything will eventually fall into place into something that you desire to happen.

4. Keep editing that movie until you find something that you are looking for.

5. Once you create the movie that you like, play it again several times until the desire is achieved with purposeful action.

Now that you’ve done the first 4 steps and are going through number 5, go through reality (yes, you’ll have to go through that temporarily, but not forever :)).

Go through reality so that you know what you need to do in order to get to where you need to be (your island).

Who’s got your money and what do you need to do to fulfill that demand?

What actions do you need to take to achieve that desire?

And ask yourself, are you fiercely committed to them?

And, if it’s a business that is your desire, can you scale it to the point in which you can acquire so you can acquire power?

And a very important one, who can you go to for help and mentoring?

Because you will need help.

And on that topic of seeking help, there are certain ways that you can get help, especially from those at the top of the field in which you are pursuing your desire.

Firstly, if there’s a course available from the top guy in the field and you can get it, invest in it.

NEVER go into debt to do it!

Because here is one law that is definitely prevalent:

“Debt is slavery.”

Write it down one thousand times, repeat it in your mind, and live by it.

Because there’s no escaping that.

Avoid all debt like the plague!

And if you’ve got debt, PAY IT ALL OFF!

Pay every portion of your paycheck that doesn’t go towards living expenses to the debt.

No excuses, do it!

Because that’ll expedite the learning process for you and get you on the fast track to get you where you need to go and you won’t waste thousands of hours in trial and error trying to get it right and holding you back.

If a course isn’t available from the top guy, do what you can to contact that top guy at the minimum.

See if possible you can meet that person at a networking event or you could write a letter that stands out and is genuine.

No emails!

They’re too common and unoriginal and you’ll be competing for attention.

Always write towards his or her interests AND demonstrate a true desire to learn.

Remember to utilize the interest cards!

If for some reason that person does not yield any relationship with you at the networking event or in the letter, than work your way down to his subordinates and utilize the same strategy until you get in with your guy.

And use the same strategy on other people that are closely to your guy when you can and their subordinates with that goal in mind!

For instance, if you want to be mentored by a startup CEO in your local area and he associates with another CEO, if your initial target doesn’t cultivate the relationship in your first attempts to seek the relationship, go to that other CEO and use the same strategy and just keep doing it until you get to your target.

And please, keep persisting!

Never stop and ALWAYS be on full attack!

Just know this with your quest for the best:

Demand the Quality from life you deserve!

Never settle, ONLY request the Best.

Know that quote inside and out!

And also know this extremely important part:

You must do everything mentioned AND you must set a deadline for yourself to acquire the wealth that you desire.

And yes, accomplishment DOES equal wealth.

Because if you don’t have a deadline, you won’t push yourself nor force yourself.

You’ll just be drifting like an empty bag of potato chips on the street.

Once you have answers to what you need to know to actually accomplish your desire, you must not just take action, but:

MASSIVE ACTION!

Why MASSIVE action?

Because if you are not moving and producing, you will get too comfortable and too lazy, which will trigger an immediate GAME OVER for you.

Do you want a GAME OVER?

Of course not!

You want the game to keep going on forever my future islander!

Even after you die!

And you just keep doing that and keep on treating people the way that you would like to be treated.

And if you do all of that better than everyone in the world, you’ll get that kingdom.

Your kingdom.

And no one will question you.

If you do all of that, you’ll be the most attractive man or woman on the planet, while being the most influential and the most powerful and the wealthiest for sure.

And it is with all of those things along with a great attitude that will get you to be the most powerful man or woman alive.

Now let me ask you, do you still want to settle?

I didn’t think so.

I hope by now that you know that settling is a losing effort, with the exception of the legal arena since there are laws that dictate what you can and cannot do based on a certain case.

And also, never settle for living like a monk forever (you will have to temporarily if it’s what it takes).

You gotta live like a king on the island.

You’ll feel and know that you are accomplished and that you’ve done your job.

Your job of building your kingdom.

And knowing that you didn’t settle.

And that settling would never had made you a king.

You are the champion.

The victor.

The one with all of the gold.

And no one will deny that from you my future islander.

And like a wise man one said, you’ll get to sing to the world “I did it my way.”

A Grand Challenge

Do Not Settle

So I challenge YOU today to write down on a sheet of paper the answer to the question “How am I not going to settle today?” And answer this quickly because the truth is right now is that you need to do more business, you need to grow your business, you don’t need to think, you need to make a decision. Yay or nay, which one is it?

If it’s “Yay,” answer the question and have a nice day.

If it’s “Nay” or “I need to think about it,” answer this for me ok? On a scale from 1-10 with 1 being “This is horrendous; screw this” and 10 being ” I gotta do this or I’ll die,” where are you right now and what would take it to a 10?

If you are still like “I gotta think about it,” just know that there is no price for doing this. It’s just a matter of writing it down on a sheet of paper and then just going out and being resourceful about it. If you are then saying “Those things are too pricey,” you are correct in some cases if due diligence comes out as a big negative. But when it comes out positive, just think about what you could do with the say $200 trip to Cancun that you take to Spring Break or that concert that makes someone else rich and invest it in yourself. You’re willing to spend money on that stuff, but not on something that can make you a fortune later on so you can go on as many trips or concerts as you want later? Do this now! Sign here on the dotted line that says that you’ll do it and just go for it!

Until next time,
This is Chief Islander Evan signing off.

  1. Hey, Evan a great post. I agree with you, it is far too easy to default to the negative and go along with what life may appear to be, a struggle. It takes far greater discipline to practice gratitude no matter what and focuses on the positive and what uplifts us. This is our power and I join you in not settling!

    1. Absolutely Fleur and thanks for your inspirational comment. That is absolutely what Join the Island is about and I’m glad that you understand the true meaning of it. Please do implement this post somehow in your life and report back the results of it.

  2. Hi Evan,
You sure have a fire in your belly!
Sometimes it’s hard to get out of the mindset and the “boredom” life when there’s a physiological chemical imbalance, perhaps like depression. Even when you know you’d like things to be different and better, it’s hard to get out of the rut.
Thanks for the uplifting, inspirational talk and you certainly put a fire in my belly!

    1. El fuego es real! For some people, yes, there might be an imbalance, but for MOST people, nah ah, there isn’t an imbalance; it’s just an excuse. Thanks for that great comment Lynne and please do implement this post into your life somehow and report back the results.

  3. While I wouldn’t call people who entertain negative thoughts disgusting or evil, I will definitely say that far too many people out there listen more to their “I can’t” voice than their “I can”. Believing in yourself is step 1, taking action is step 2.

    1. Let’s agree to disagree on that first part there and completely agree with each other on that last one there; that is most people for sure, excuses left and right! Thanks for your comment Eric and please do implement this blog post in any area of your life and report back the results.

  4. Hey Evan,

I agree with Eric on that one. Evil is a person who is profoundly immoral and malevolent. If anyone gets hurt by self-doubt it is themselves. I do agree everyone has to hit rock bottom most times before they will truly change their lives but that’s the point of life isn’t it? Mistakes and pain are what help us grow.

    1. The last one is absolutely correct Tina and good on you for catching that! Please implement this post as much as you can in your life and report back the results. That would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  5. Hi Evan, thank you for a great post. I really enjoyed reading it.

Sadly, far too many people just “settle” and think they are the victim of circumstances, they blame everyone except themselves.

For those people that realise THEY make their own problems and only THEY are the solution to their problems, they start to really change and improve their life.

For me, it is so sad to see most people living their lives like the “Walking Dead”. If only people understand the power to change is inside all of us, there is a hero inside all of us and we just need to search for the hero inside us.

All the answers are within each of us and we can discover these answers by being quiet and really listening to the inner voice!

Great site… keep up the good work!

    1. Thank you Moni; the people who you alluded to are the ones who REALLY need to read this and who need to read Join the Island; the force is really inside of us. Thanks for the comment Moni and please do implement this post as much as you can and report back the results!

  6. Hi, thanks for this great motivational post. Do you think there is ever a point where it is okay to settle? I understand that you shouldn’t settle if you haven’t yet achieved your goals, but later down the road when you feel you’ve accomplished everything you set out to, is it okay to sit back and enjoy the results?

    1. Benji, of course; that’s why you work for it in the first place my friend! When you know that you achieved what you set out to, then yes, it is fine to settle down since you have no one to respond to. Thanks for the comment and please do implement this post into your life as much as possible and report back the results.
