Are you not sold on being the best at what you do?

What if I told you that you need to be great at what you do if you want any success in life?

Would that wake you up and listen to the “Be great” side of the argument?

If that woke you up, then read on for all the answers that you need as to why you DO need to be great in order to get anything that you want in life.

This is the guide on how to be great in life and how to be great at something.

Let’s get right into it so I don’t waste your time today.

Let me ask you something.

Do you remember anybody in any line of work?

If you do, is it only one person?

If that’s the case, is it the person who is the best at what they do?

I figured.

You see, people only remember those who performed the best since they got the results that are desired.

Why is this?

Because that person did something special that other people didn’t do.

They went above and beyond and they delivered spectacularly.

Hence, they receive all of the attention.

What does that mean for the others?

That’s right, they get nothing.

If you are remembered for something that you did and it delivered spectacularly great results, you are setting up the foundation of greatness.

If you do it consistently, then you will never leave the minds of everyone and you will be remembered as a legend.

I’m sure that you remember these names:

Michael Jordan

LeBron James

Michael Jackson (I got it, the allegations were brought up, but he hasn’t been convicted)

Elvis Presley

Tom Brady

Muhammad Ali

William Shakespeare

Your Favorite Teacher

Someone Who Inspired You

The reason why you remember these names is because they provided value with their words, moves, artistic work in such a way that made you go “Wow, I will never forget that.”

That is what puts those people on the top of your mind at the exclusion of everyone else.

Do you remember the person who just said “Hi, I’m (insert name) and I’m a student studying XYZ subject at ABC university. I want to work in (insert occupation) because I have an interest in this and that thing.”

And then when you look at the résumé, it’s just like everyone else’s.

Who remembers that?

Please don’t be that person.

Be the person who delivers exceptionally great results and be remembered for that.

And when you deliver exceptionally great results, you will be one of these people:

That’s right.

Unless the entire industry goes down for whatever reason, you will not lose work.

It can’t happen.

If you are the best at what you do and you consistently produce the best results, then people have no choice but to keep you around.

The livelihood of their business depends on you providing results.

Why would anyone want to get rid of the top salesperson on the market if they have him or her producing the best results for them?

Exactly.

It doesn’t make sense to get rid of them!

Now, what happens if you are just good at what you do and for some reason, the company needs to get rid of talent?

There’s a good chance that you are on the hot seat.

Not good at all!

Now if you are the best at what you do and they need to keep your type of talent around regardless of the circumstances, then you shouldn’t have a problem keeping your job or retaining clients.

Of course, you need to sell yourself to keep your job/spot with clients because they can be totally clueless as to what to do and you need to make sure that their business sticks around.

Otherwise, you are on the hot seat!

In other words, sell to survive!

But assuming that your employer/clients aren’t foolish and they have their heads wrapped around the situation, then you should not have a problem keeping work if you are the best at what you do.

It only makes sense for them to keep you around if you are the best.

But if you are mediocre and don’t deliver the goods, then their heads are right in getting rid of you.

Don’t be that person!

Now when you are the best, you are guaranteed to have this next trait right here unlike everyone else and that is this:

You’ll Have a Name For Yourself

You’ll actually be remembered in a great way for something and you will actually build a legitimate brand that is indestructible.

Why wouldn’t you want that?

Privacy? Ok, that’s understandable.

But within a niche of clients in an industry, you want that legit brand so that you can get leads coming to your doorstep every second.

The cash flow that they pay you is the life blood of your business and reputation.

You don’t want to be another brick in the wall when it comes to that.

You want to be the light bulb that shines in the dark room.

Do you recognize the spots in the room that are dark?

Nope. Not at all.

Do you recognize the light?

Exactly.

That’s the same concept that occurs when employers and clients look at candidates for a job or a gig.

They look at who stands out and who delivers the best results in the shortest period of time.

Hence, the light instead of the dark.

Everybody else make up the collection of dark spots in the room that no one will recognize.

Don’t be that.

Be the light that everyone wants to have and that everyone wants to be around.

Be the light with your work, be the light with your attitude, be the light with how you conduct yourself, etc.

Be the light every time.

That is what you need to do in order to make a name for yourself.

Your future self will thank you.

Now when you are great at something, you will have these things that I will elaborate about right now.

You’ll Have Healthy Obsessions

When you are great at something, you will become extremely obsessed with everything that you do that makes you successful because you cannot get rid of the feeling of winning with what you do.

In other words, you will never want to stop working.

And when you don’t want to stop working, you will become focused on achieving even greater results with your work than you did in the past.

You will develop such a contagious energy that will attract everybody to want to work with you and no one else.

I can give you countless examples of people who successfully did this and are some of the happiest and most inspirational people on the planet as a result.

Their energy is so contagious that people literally cannot ignore them and are instantly attracted to them.

Now why is it?

It’s because of the obsession for delivering value and helping people that you cannot ignore.

Most people have obsession with the wrong stuff like their iPhones and their Netflix and their lattes and their Instagram instead of on things that create value in society.

As a result, they say stuff like “Is it 5 o’clock yet?” “Is it Friday?” “Can I watch Dancing With the Stars?”

Their energy is boring and their lives are boring as a result.

But when you are someone who is obsessed with the correct things in life, words cannot describe how magnetic you become.

To get to that point, I encourage you to read this article here right now and discover how you can find what you love to do and the demand in the marketplace for anything and use that information to discover your true calling in life.

If you are not convinced about this, I want you to look around you and see what most people are doing and what they have in their pockets.

What is it?

The smartphone.

Do you know what the smartphone does to most people?

It consumes their time and energy into something that delivers instant gratification and no value.

Hence, they become detracted from life and all that it has to offer.

In other words, no time to develop greatness in what they do.

Now this isn’t just limited to smartphones; it can be anything else that offers instant gratification.

But the point is that to become extremely obsessed to the point of greatness, you MUST get rid of the instant gratification ASAP or it will consume your time and energy quickly.

But note who created the epidemic.

That guy was obsessed on the correct things and as a result, he attracted the masses.

And no, it’s not because of a mental disorder.

It’s a choice that you make to be great and to be obsessed about what you do and to be super-duper dedicated and put genuine passion and effort into doing that thing.

And believe me, the rewards will be great when you make that choice.

It can’t happen any other way.

So I challenge you to find work that you are great at and deliver value with it. You’ll become obsessed with it fast.
