How to Deal With the Worst Professor Ever; Works Every Time!

How to Deal With the Worst Professor Ever; Works Quickly Every Time!

Did you just hear that a professor for your upcoming class is bad?

Do you want to know how to survive that class and put it to sleep for good, even with that bad professor?

Well in this post, you will see how to deal with the worst professor of your life and be done with it before you know it.

Now some of these tips might just surprise you, but they will get you ahead in school and, potentially, in life.

So read on for the secrets of using the bad professor for getting what you want out of college and to achieve your goal.

Drop If You Can

How to Deal With the Worst Professor Ever; Works Every Time!

I think it goes without saying that if you can drop the class with the bad professor, then you should.

Try to find another professor who is fair and who isn’t a jerk and will give you the shot that you deserve to pass the class.

If you haven’t thought of this already, go to Rate My Professors right here and search for your professor to see any reviews about your current professor.

Look for signs of a bad professor which might be quite obvious when you read the reviews.

If bad professor performance is obvious in the reviews, that’s a red flag.

If you talk to classmates and this story is true, you better find a way to drop so that you can save your semester in a heartbeat.

Don’t waste it and don’t blow your chances for achieving your goal.

I think that you know by now that if your goal requires a high GPA or grad school, then you better save your skin at whatever cost to not blow those chances.

This is one way to do that.

If you have a great advisor (not a mediocre one), then you should go to him or her first before signing up for any professor because they will tell you if they are good to take or not.

This is someone that you can count on giving you great pointers for your college success since they will look after your best interests and will want you to succeed.

Note: These aren’t the mediocre advisors that I’m talking about. Those are just there for a paycheck and nothing else. They don’t care about you.

You want a great advisor.

Now, if your advisor tells you that there is no other way around the class other than taking this bad professor, then you are going to have to follow some procedures for how to deal with them.

Think of the next two sections of this blog post as kind of like your survival guide to dealing with bad professors because, let’s face it, you need to survive and you need a guide.

So here it is!

Don’t Piss Them Off

How to Deal With the Worst Professor Ever; Works Every Time!

Now I know that you want to blow off on your professor for being the worst professor in the world, but you have to know this:

They are a person just like me and you and they need to be treated with respect.

With that being said, all that you have to do is not do anything that will piss them off.

Otherwise, they will do some pretty crazy things.

So how do you not piss them off?

A few things:

A)     Just stay silent

B)     Only approach them if it’s absolutely critical to like you need them to sign an important form.

C)     Whatever else that you have to do to not piss them off; this is figured out intuitively in class.

That’s it.

That’s how you handle an unfair professor easily.

Don’t do anything that can get them mad and you will be okay.

Now, would I recommend skipping class?

No.

Let me explain why you shouldn’t.

The reason for that is because the professor still might say some important information regarding a test, quiz, or assignment, that requires your presence in order to take full advantage of that information.

Additionally, even though they won’t teach, you can still use the lecture to your advantage to fill any knowledge gaps from what you read prior to going to class, which can tremendously help you understand your homework and the test better than if you didn’t go to class.

You can read more about how to use classroom time to your full advantage here.

Let me say this again:

It’s ridiculously powerful to read or watch YouTube videos on the subject before going to class.

Believe me on that one.

That is the secret of these so called “prodigies.”

That’s all that they do.

And before we begin the next section, I want you to know and clearly understand this extremely important point:

Formal education makes you a living, but self-education makes you a fortune.

Sit on that phrase for a second and let it sink in.

Read this article here for more information about that concept.

This blog post is self-education in which you are educating yourself, not necessarily from a formal institution or a fixed curriculum, on things that will help you achieve your goal.

Basically, this post shows you the tricks on how to handle a bad professor so that you can achieve your goal for what you are going to college for.

And that in itself is extremely powerful.

And now for the next few tricks:

Utilize Your Peers, Resources, and the Internet

These will now be your best friends for the class since they have the keys to unlocking the way out for you in the class.

Let’s start with your peers.

You would want to select at least 1 person that is doing well and that you trust and that you can count on to clarify anything to you if you are stuck on anything.

This is definitely a realistic option since for them, the best way to assess their knowledge is in the ability to teach it to other classmates and this is also a potential networking option that can benefit you in the long run.

So automatically, you are winning your way in the class with just this one trick.

Now you can also form a study group, preferably no more than 5 people though or otherwise, it’s going to get way too busy to the point where it becomes unproductive.

In engineering and computer science, this is particularly useful since the problems in these subjects require a lot of critical thinking and you definitely need more than one person on your side so that you can crack what the problem’s solution is.

Chances are, you will all collectively figure it out.

This option is awesome because you can network with more people and you can assess your own knowledge of the subject matter when you need to teach it to people.

They can also fill in some of the holes for you when you don’t articulate something correctly, which is a BIG bonus for you come test time.

With all of that said, study groups are definitely worth your time so make it a point to join one or form one yourself.

But there’s more.

Aside from study groups, you have an abundance of other resources at your disposal wherever you go to school.

These resources include other professors (yes, they’ll help you), the academic success center (the tutoring center) where they will provide you tutors at no additional cost as a result of paying tuition, and other students who have already taken the class whom you can find in your other classes or in clubs.

Most of these people are not going to say no to you, so you are bound to get help regardless and you have no excuse not to seek their help when you need it.

And believe me, you will need their help.

So you should utilize them when you need to.

And last but not least, you have the internet.

The internet has a plethora of resources to help you succeed academically from awesome YouTube instructors who explain the material clearly and thoroughly to amazing websites that also explain the material in a way that you WILL understand the material.

Provided that these resources are free, you have no reason to not use them when you need help.

Now note that I say free resources.

With the exception of Chegg in order to check your work when you get an answer wrong, you should NEVER have to pay for an internet resource.

It should always be free.

So now you really don’t have an excuse to not use them.

Believe me when I am about to say next:

The test that you get when you have a bad professor will be the same conceptual stuff that you see in your textbook, the internet, study groups, and the tutoring.

That will not change from professor to professor, so think of this as replacing your professor with new instructors as they will teach you what you need to know in order to pass the test.

And your grade will be like you are in a good professor’s class, not the bad professor’s class.

So it’s definitely going to work out at the end for you.

And no, your professor will not try to do everything to give you an F if you earned an A.

They will grant you an A when you earn it.

And most importantly, remember this:

You are paying for ALL of this.

Read that again so that it’s clear.

What does that mean?

It means that if you follow the Code of Conduct and you do not do anything illegal and you follow the university guidelines, then YOU ARE THE BOSS!

They have to do what you say and no the other way around.

So don’t let the university make you feel like they are in charge because they are not.

You are in charge as a result of paying them to perform a service for you.

The people that you seek help from are your team and you must use that team to your full advantage in order to get what you want and ultimately get ahead in life.

And when you have a bad professor, these tips and tricks are a good way to do just that.

So use them to your full advantage.

After all, they are free!

So use them well!
