You Can’t Buy Anything Without It

You might be seeking free stuff everywhere you look.

While it is true there is such a thing as “buy 1 get 1 free,” there is no such thing as free.

Let me explain.

You see, everything in this world is a value exchange.

There is no such thing as one person takes everything and the other person does all of the work.

Everyone gets something of equal or greater value in a good transaction.

The reason this is the case is because of a psychological principle called the law of reciprocation.

It says that if someone does something of a certain value to someone else, the person receiving the value will provide something of equal or greater value to the other person.

This is the root of all good business transactions. If violated, lawsuits occur, people lose trust with one another and they don’t do business again.

So in your situation as someone without money, if you ask for someone for food, they are doing all of the work and receiving no value in exchange back.

Would you want to do all of the work and not receive any value back in return?

I thought so.

That’s why you can’t buy anything without money.

To further justify this if you still aren’t convinced, the law of reciprocation comes from Newton’s 3^rd Law of Motion, which says that every action has an equal and opposite reaction along the same line.

If this equal and opposite transaction doesn’t occur, one force is taking all of the blow while the other one is doing all of the suffering of withstanding this force.

How is this even fair?

And with this being the case, how should someone or some company provide you services and receive nothing in exchange for it?

Exactly. They shouldn’t.

It’s up to the point where Physics is against you if you want things for free.

How could you expect something in return if you don’t pay for it?

The bottom line is this: Get this idea that you can receive things for free out of your head. It doesn’t work that way.

The exception to this law: The library and YouTube.

Start at those two places. See where you go. And while you are at it, get a job if you don’t have one. And be the best employee ever for that company.

If you are not the best, you are dispensable. Don’t be dispensable. Be extremely useful.

If you want things for free, go to Cuba. You’ll see why having things for free is bad.

And to that point, I will also tell you this:

You Can’t Run Life On Your Own Agenda Without It

The only thing you have control over when you are broke is your ability to get your next dollar.

That’s it.

Not crying to the world, not pleading, begging or complaining.

It’s your ability to get your next dollar.

Everyone in the world has one question for you and one question only when they deal with you or anyone else in the world.

That question is:

“What’s in it for me?”

In other words, how will you make their life better somehow to justify the cost of giving money to you relative to everyone else?

If you don’t have money, you cannot be on the side of demanding people to give you the answers to your questions.

You need to be giving the answers to their questions and showing them that you can deliver.

Otherwise, you will stay broke.

It’s that simple.

I dare you to try to ask people for favors for free constantly.

If you are brave enough to do so, you will see very quickly that I am right.

I don’t mean to offend you, but almost everybody you would ask is going to say no to you.

And they should say no to you.

Why?

Because you are wasting their time.

If you take their time and energy away with no return, you are stealing.

You can go to jail for that.

Do you want to go to jail?

I thought so.

Don’t be a thief. Become a man (or woman) of value.

Like I’ve said, the laws of physics are against you if you don’t adhere to this principle.

And if you still don’t believe me, this is what will happen if you don’t have money:

You Won’t Be Taken Seriously Without It

Do you think anybody is going to take a chump kid out of high school seriously?

Not if he doesn’t add value somehow.

Not if he can win somehow.

That’s why the state championship winning quarterback gets all of the hype (even though he doesn’t necessarily seek it) and the average student gets no attention.

Sure, the average high school kid might be doing some things on the side that would get attention if people found out about it, but that’s beyond the scope of this post.

The point is you need to be extremely skilled at what you do in order to get the attention of your potential clients or employers since you provide them enough value to warrant their attention.

In short, you can make them more money, which will in turn make them happy.

I want you to pay attention to this story that I’ll tell you from a movie that really brings this concept to life.

There’s a movie by DreamWorks called “Shark Tale.”

It revolved around a fish named Oscar, who was just another worker at a car wash.

One day, he was at the race track to give money to his boss that he had to give. But instead, he gets sidetracked and he bets the money on a horse that had 200-1 odds to win a horse race.

If the horse won the race, Oscar would become a millionaire.

Shortly after he places his bet, he notices this hot chick named Lola and immediately becomes attracted to her.

However, when he was denied access to the VIP area, Lola realized he was not a high status individual (this is not the type of girl you want, but I’m just using this example to prove a point).

Oscar got bummed out pretty fast.

He ends up losing his boss’ money and immediately gets punished by his boss’ Jamaican jellyfish who would sting him voraciously for losing the money.

While they were doing this punishment, a shark comes to attack them all.

But, an anchor ends up killing the shark, much to their relief.

Now here comes the good part.

Oscar quickly realizes that he could use this death to say that he “slayed the shark,” when, of course, he didn’t.

The city that he lived in had a need for someone who could destroy incoming sharks to the area.

So Oscar begins to tell the story and says that he is “The Shark Slayer.”

And he instantly became a household name and was getting all of this money and endorsements.

He was able to buy his dream “penthouse on top of the reef.”

Now that he has the success and the money, Lola now becomes interested. She sees that he can provide enough money (the value in this case) to fulfill her needs and make her happy.

Hence, she goes for him.

Eventually, Oscar found out that Lola was only after him for the money and not for who he was as a person and as a result, Oscar dumped her.

The point that I am making with this example is this:

In order to get people to want to do business with you, you need to provide enough of what they want in order for them to justify the cost of giving you their attention.

Hence, they will take you seriously if you accomplish this task.

Otherwise,

And that is what is on everyone’s mind when you don’t provide what they want in business.

You are a nobody who we don’t give a f*** about.

But, you have the potential to become a winner with the right moves if you make them.

Now realize this next point closely because it is true even if you don’t see it now.

Your Self-Esteem Will Drop Without It

At least when you are broke. Studies show that once you reach somewhere around $50,000 per year, this becomes less true.

But, if you are broke, you will be stressful as hell if you are not making money.

You will become extremely discouraged super fast and you will feel down about yourself if you are not bringing in the dough.

I can show you many people around the world that experience this same feeling because they do not receive the opportunity to make a lot of money and as a result, they have to resort to believing in themselves to get through and to get opportunities to live the life that they want to live.

Self-belief is crucial when you are trying to get off of the ground. In fact, it’s necessary to prevent this drop in self-esteem.

BUT, when you can make money, you become confident about yourself and your abilities.

Hence, your self-esteem goes up.

Your self-worth goes up and you are happier as a result.

Do you understand?

You become powerful and you start to feel masculine (or feminine) and you begin to dominate the things you are doing.

This is when you feel certain about your life and you grab it by the horns.

Then, you start getting attention without you even asking for it.

That’s when you know you’ve got something going for yourself.

Now here’s the next reality you will face if you don’t have money:

You Can’t Be Healthy Nor Relax Without Money

Try to sign up for a gym membership without money.

Try staying at the Ritz Carlton without money (unless you work there).

Were you successful?

I figured.

Look, health and relaxation are services provided to you.

They have a cost to get.

If you want them, you have to pay for them.

Again, in case you still don’t get it, the people who are providing you those services are NOT relaxing. They are moving, experiencing hell on Earth with their jobs and they have expectations to meet.

And should they meet those expectations if you don’t pay them?

Is that even a question?

Yes, you have the right to be treated with respect unless you are a criminal, but you do not have the right to ask people to do those services of giving you a massage, treating you to a fine dinner or providing for your health if you don’t pay them.

That’s just not right and downright wrong for you to ask for.

You have to do your share before you can request the goods.

What will you do for people to solve their problems?

How will you go about understanding their pain points and addressing them as swiftly and efficiently as possible compared to everyone else?

These are what you need to solve first before you can go to the Ritz Carlton and ask “May I book a Suite and have the best service you offer?”

This is how the world works friend.

Lucky for you, you are not paying to receive this insight, so take advantage of it while you can because sooner than later if you are not paying attention, you will forget everything that I am saying and you will stay broke with all of those bills to deal with.

Now if you are a boy/man, this next one is true.

You Can’t Attract Women Without Money

Can you name me one of these supermodels who would date a man without money (not necessarily choose him because it involves more than money)?

Kate Upton

Miranda Kerr

Gisele Bundchen

Heidi Klum

Brooklyn Decker

Cindy Crawford

I want you to look up all of their husbands and what they do/did for their careers.

Not a SINGLE one is broke.

In fact, they are all extremely successful.

Good luck attracting any woman of this kind without having something to show for yourself.

Even though there is more to the equation than money, money is the thing that will get you in the door with any of these woman.

Why?

Because you are not needy.

When you are needy, you take away from their time in a negative light.

This means they have to take time to take care of you when they should be using their time to take care of themselves.

How can you take care of your girl if you can’t take care of yourself?

That’s ridiculous!

No wonder they are saying no to you every chance they get when they see you!

Listen, when your money situation isn’t right, you shouldn’t even be worried about women.

You should worry about the business that is You Inc. and what you are going to do to get cash flow into your business.

Even if the girl says yes to being your girlfriend, you have an obligation to compromise your time to her, which is an opportunity cost since you cannot use that time to go make money.

On top of that, she might be manipulating you and you don’t even know it.

For example, let’s say you both move in together and she agrees to pay for your living expenses (not saying this would happen, but to prove a point).

In this case, you are the one who cannot provide for yourself and you have to live with her to survive.

Your relationship goes sideways. Now what?

You can’t leave her because you can’t buy out of the situation.

Additionally, you cannot charge her for your time because she is paying for your living expenses and the only way for you to survive is to heed to her requests.

Now you have to incur the required opportunity cost of serving her instead of serving a client whose money you earned or on building skills for yourself.

In short, when you do not have money with a girl, you are not the powerful one in the relationship.

If she says yes to you when you are broke, she is using you.

Read that sentence again.

She has goals of her own and if she can save time by letting you live with her for “free” and do whatever she wants with you, she will do everything possible to have you chained to her.

This is why marriage is a really bad idea for most people. When they divorce, you are risking all that you worked for the opportunity, like going to Las Vegas, that your relationship will work out.

When you have money, you are mobile.

If you don’t like her, you can get rid of her with no strings attached.

When you have money, you are not with her under obligation. You are with her because you genuinely want to for who she is as a person.

Tony Montana from Scarface says it best when it comes to women.

1^ST: Get the money

2^nd: Get the power

3^rd: Get the women

Without money, you can’t get power.

This is why money means everything.

And power isn’t necessarily being a billionaire (even though you should be shooting for it).

This means freedom to choose where you want to go, what real estate you own, whether or not you have debt or anything else that money can buy.

Once your power is established and you are dead sure that the girl will not take any of it away from you even if she tries, then you can let her in since you are not relinquishing your control in the relationship.

Ideally, it should be equal, but not these days.

You need to do everything you can to have control.

Why?

Because if she lies to you, cheats on you, you both aren’t a fit or is just a flat out gold digger, then you can kick her out without having to worry about your money, time nor possessions being taken away from you.
