Loneliness Is a Curse, But Solitude Is a Virtue. Here Are The Simple Answers As To Why

Loneliness Is a Curse, But Solitude Is a Virtue. Here Are The Simple Answers As To Why

Have you been lonely lately?

Do you feel like you are on your own boat in stormy seas alone with no one around?

If that’s you, then this blog post is for you.

Let me tell everything that you need to know.

Loneliness is a really miserable thing.

You feel that there is no one in the world who supports you.

However, there is another way of being alone without having to deal with all of the noise and that is solitude

Solitude is virtue that is more sacred than you know.

It means that there is something different and unique about you that the world can’t take away from you.

How?

Because you set your own boundaries in life instead of letting life set boundaries on you.

You get to reflect on life on your own terms in a way that you can make very important decisions without the negative influence of others.

You must do everything that you can to keep it that way and you should not back down from it at all regardless of what the world tells you.

If you are questioning whether or not you should give up your solitude somehow, let me brief you in on SO many benefits that come from being by yourself for an extended period of time.

You Aren’t Bombarded By Noise

Loneliness Is a Curse, But Solitude Is a Virtue. Here Are The Simple Answers As To Why

Do you always get the feeling that when you are surrounded by a lot of people who don’t share your values, you get a negative vibe and it seems like you are a misfit somehow?

If you do, it’s like that for a reason and you are not the reason.

The reason is that they are the negative vibe.

They don’t appreciate for who you are and what you stand for and as a result, it becomes a toxic environment.

That toxic environment, aka noise, becomes extremely harmful to your creativity and to your ability to think because you get a sense that you have to conform and that you have to fit in somehow when in reality, you don’t need to do that.

You just need to think for yourself and then go from there.

When you are alone, you can have all of this time to think for yourself and thoughtfully consider the circumstances surrounding the situation and you get to primarily make that decision out of logic instead of pure emotion like a lot of decisions when the crowd gets in your way.

You’ll be calm when you are making these decisions and it won’t be like you are in panic mode the entire time. You’ll actually control what you are doing.

And when you are in control of what you are doing, you will not be one of these things stuck in traffic all day.

You Aren’t a Sheep

A sheep is like another car in traffic. It’s in this area full of sheep with no room to move.

I’m sure that if you’ve worked before, you’ve felt that way.

This is not the way to go.

The way to go is to be completely independent of that and just do you.

Now, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be completely alone when you have people that support your values.

But when you are surrounded by people who don’t support you for what you want to do and for what makes you you, then you need to be alone or you’ll get stuck in traffic somehow.

You are unique in every way and you have something of value to the world that you just don’t know yet.

I want you to take the time and find that thing you have with this activity here in a post. It’ll help you discover everything that you love and it’ll change your mindset in a way to embrace it and to create genius art out of it that’ll WOW the world.

The main thing is that you can’t be this fake person when toxic people surround you.

You have to do everything that you can in order to be your authentic self.

And if you need to be away from people in order to be your authentic self and to make the right decisions for you, then so be it.

At least you won’t buy into the self-limiting beliefs that everyone will try to impose onto you.

Now here’s something particularly special from being in solitude.

You’ll Be More Productive

Loneliness Is a Curse, But Solitude Is a Virtue. Here Are The Simple Answers As To Why

This is because you will have less distractions when you are in solitude.

It’s just you, your head, and the knowledge that you have that will guide you in your decision making.

As a result, you will just move on with your life with no delays whatsoever.

In fact, studies show this is the case. Take a look at this article here for the details.

Pretty fascinating right?

Now you know why cubicles are such a bad idea along with those startup office setups!

You need to be by yourself when you work unless you are working with a group.

But even so, just the group. No one else.

But the bottom line is that when you are not alone, you will get into an unnecessary rush that should be avoided.

So if you find yourself in this situation, just know this:

Step back and assess your thinking in a clear way.

Give yourself some alone time to contemplate what you are doing. Once you have absolute clarity in what you are doing, proceed with what you need to do.

In other words, don’t be the slave to circumstance. Be the master of it.

Here’s the in-depth difference between loneliness and solitude if you want more details about this distinction.

What To Do If You’re Lonely

Loneliness Is a Curse, But Solitude Is a Virtue. Here Are The Simple Answers As To Why

There are many ways to go about this, but here are the 3 most important ones to realize:

  1. Don’t succumb to peer pressure

This is the absolute worst thing that you can do. You are cheating yourself out of life if you do this.

If you do this, you are basically putting yourself in traffic without knowing why you are getting into traffic.

This is not smart.

When someone tells you to think a certain way because it seems like the “cool” thing to do or that you “have” to do it, don’t fall for it.

Do it because you see a need for it yourself.

Don’t be a conformist, think for yourself above everything else.

And have all of the facts at your disposal.

Once you have those facts, make your decision with 100% confidence and nothing less.

  1. Don’t be ashamed of Who You Are

No matter what friend.

You’ll be a winner in life if you do this.

In fact, let me tell you something pretty interesting that will make sense when I tell you.

You definitely know Donald Trump.

Everyone said that he was extremely inappropriate when he was running for president and that he couldn’t win the election.

But do you know what he was?

Himself.

The whole time and he didn’t back down from it one bit.

And you know what?

The American people rewarded him for it.

It was only because he was himself in a shameless fashion that he won the election and he also got to where he went in business because of it.

I can think of many examples of those who lived the way they wanted to live life because they were simply themselves the entire time and didn’t deviate away from it.

But the bottom line is this:

Staying true to yourself is one of the most important steps to greatness in life.

And sometimes, if not all the time, being in solitude allows you to do this better than any other interaction on the planet.

Now having said that, you do need others in order to get you ahead, but only a specific group of people and those people make up recommendation 3.

  1. Surround yourself with people who share your values, value you for who you are and will help you get ahead

These are the people that you shouldn’t shy away from because for the most part, they have your best interest at heart.

These are the ones who see your awesomeness and will do anything possible to get your awesomeness out to the world.

They will not put you down for thinking a certain way and they will help you make decisions that are going to be in your best interest and that will not guide you wrong.

Take the opinions of these people with great consideration and block out everyone else’s.

You’ll be glad that you did.

Now having said that, don’t just take their recommendations as the ones you must take since you are the captain at the end of the day.

Just think of this network as your support system and kind of like your filter of outside thoughts if you aren’t sure of anything.

In short, let them take out the BS when necessary and you sort through the rest.

And there you have it friend.

Your future self will thank you for it.

Don’t be lonely, but be in solitude.
